Nebraska swept the men’s Big Ten weekly awards, announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Brithton Senior was named the Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Micaylon Moore earned the Big Ten Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Senior ran a 7.66 in the 60m hurdles at Friday's Nebraska Tune-Up to win the event with a personal-best time. That time moved him up to second in the Big Ten behind Darius Luff, tied him for ninth in the NCAA and fourth in school history ahead of conference week.
Moore competed at the Iowa Open on Friday, leaping 54-0 1/2 (16.47m) in the triple jump. That mark set the facility record, the meet record, ranks first in the Big Ten, ranks sixth in the NCAA and is the third-farthest distance in school history.
This is the fifth weekly award Nebraska has collected throughout the season, with Henry Zimmerman winning two straight weeks and Till Steinforth claiming one on Feb. 7.
Nebraska has a big week ahead, with the Big Ten Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Events begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. (CT), with both days being streamed on B1G+.
