The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team (3-3, 1-1 Big Ten) is set to compete against the Iowa Hawkeyes (2-2, 0-2 Big Ten) on Sunday, Feb. 4 at Xtreme Arena in Coralville, Iowa. The meet is slated to start at 1 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on B1G+.
The Huskers have faced Iowa 41 times total and own a 30-11 lead in the series. NU earned the victory the last time the two teams met, 196.275-196.125.
Last Time Out
The Huskers hosted No. 13 Michigan for their second home meet of the year and fell by a score of 196.900-195.275.
Csenge Bácskay matched two career highs with a 9.850 on bars and a 9.800 on beam. Whitney Jencks also matched two of her career highs – 9.825 on floor and 9.800 on bars. Additionally, Bácskay competed in her first all-around meet for NU and notched a 39.350 to place second.
Scouting the Competition
The Hawkeyes are 2-2 on the season and have not yet won their first conference competition. They have defeated Washington and Southern Utah and have lost to No. 13 Michigan State and No. 16 Minnesota. Their most recent meet was a 197.400-195.700 loss to the Spartans.
Iowa is led by Adeline Kenlin, Karina Muñoz and Eva Volpe.
