Huskers Set for Tri-Meet With Army, Greenville

The No. 5 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team treks back home to Lincoln where it is set to host No. 11 Army and No. 10 Greenville in a tri-meet this Saturday, Feb. 17. The meet will commence at 1 p.m. (CT) at the Devaney Sports Center and will be streamed on B1G+. There will be an autographed poster giveaway session following the meet.

Last Time Out
The Huskers look to make a comeback after their fall to Michigan this past weekend (398.850-407.700). Despite the loss, one of three team captains, Zac Tiderman, impressed with strength by notching a career-best 15.00 on vault and taking second overall. Tiderman also competed on high bar, claiming third place (13.75). The captain ranks seventh in the nation on vault and sixth on high bar.

In addition to the impressive marks from the Wilsonville, Ore, product, the Huskers worked to tie their current team score record on vault set back in 2018 (73.20). 

Freshman Chase Mondi earned his first career Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor following his preformance against Michigan. The Lawrence, Kan., native registered a 13.90 on floor, a career-best, and took second place. Mondi earned a sixth-place finish on vault (14.60).

Ahead of the meet, No. 5 NU highlights the rankings in first place on vault (72.40), based on a three-score average. The Huskers also occupy fourth position on floor (67.733) and high bar (67.10), seventh on both pommel horse (65.75) and still rings (65.533), and ninth on parallel bars (65.567).

Scouting the Competition
No. 11 Army fell against Navy last weekend (377.500), led by Maddox Pabellon earning the title on pommel horse (13.70) and Johnathan Pinc on vault (14.50).

No. 10 Greenville completed the fifth week of competition by securing a win against Simpson (392.950). GU features Zach Connelly as the floor titlest (13.90), and Donovan Diviney as the titlest on parallel bars (13.50) and high bar (13.25).
