Zimmerman Earns Second Big Ten Weekly Award

Henry Zimmerman was named the Big Ten Men’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday by the conference office.

For the second-consecutive week, Zimmerman was honored by the conference as a top performer with his record-breaking weight throw mark at the Mark Colligan Memorial.

A week after breaking Nebraska's school record at the Graduate Classic, Zimmerman improved his personal-best weight throw mark to break his own record. He won the event at the Mark Colligan Memorial with a mark of 74-8 1/4 (22.76m), after hitting 73-6 3/4 (22.42m) the previous weekend. Along with the school record, Zimmerman's throw is No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 3 in the NCAA.

Nebraska returns to competition Feb. 2-3 for the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the Devaney Center Indoor Track. Events are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. (CT) on Friday and 9:30 a.m. (CT) on Saturday.
