Bahl Named to Player-of-the-Year Watch List

Nebraska junior Jordy Bahl was one of 50 players named to the preseason watch list for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, announced on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Bahl was the lone player from the Big Ten Conference to make the watch list.

 

A native of Papillion, Nebraska, Bahl made the preseason watch list for the second straight season after being one of 10 finalists for the award in both 2022 and 2023.  A list of 25 finalists will be announced on May 15, with the top-10 finalists released on May 15 and the top-three finalists announced on May 20. The 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be announced prior to the start of the Women’s College World Series.

 

Bahl is in her first season at Nebraska after playing the past two seasons at Oklahoma. She was a first-team All-American and the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year in both seasons as a Sooner. The 2022 National Freshman of the Year and 2023 WCWS Most Outstanding Player, Bahl boasts a 44-2 career record with a 0.99 ERA. She is also a .350 career hitter.
