Sergeant Julia Anderson (Lincoln, NE, Active Duty U.S. Army/U.S. National Guard)
Sergeant Julia Anderson has served in the Nebraska National Guard for 10 years. After graduating from Lincoln Southwest High School, she completed basic and military police training and became a member of the 192nd Military Police Department. While overseas, she served in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2015 and recently returned home from a mission to the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Sergeant Anderson was awarded for her duties providing medical care to fellow soliders.
She is the great granddaughter of former Nebraska Athletic Director, Colonel Herbert Gish (1928-1932).
Sergeant Anderson graduated from Nebraska in 2018 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Child, Youth, and Family Studies.
