The No. 10 Nebraska rifle team is in third place after the first day of the Fall Classic in Morgantown, W.V. on Saturday. NU fired a team score of 2,334 in the smallbore. Senior Cecelia Ossi qualified for the final and finished seventh in the finals with a score of 406.0.
After day one, No. 2 West Virginia is in first (2,363), No. 7 Air Force is in second (2,336), NU is in third (2,334) and No. 6 Murray State is in fourth (2,321).
Ossi and sophomore Tori Watts both shot a 585 in the preliminary rounds of the event to lead the Huskers. Sophomore Emma Rhode and junior Mackenzie Strauch both shot 582s, and freshman Charlie Mick (577) and sophomore Camilla Johannessen (571) rounded out the lineup.
Nebraska will return to action tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. (CT) for the air rifle event at the Fall Classic.
