Harry Crockett carded nine birdies in the second round to finish with a 68 (-4) to lead the Huskers on the opening day of the Everett Buick GMC Classic in Little Rock, Ark., on Monday.
Crockett added his second-round 68 to an opening-round 73 (+1) to complete his day at 141 (-3) in contention for the top 10 in the 84-player field on the par-72, 7,115-yard layout at the Chenal Country Club.
Although the junior from Oxted, England, concluded his 36 holes, the second round was actually suspended by darkness prior to its completion.
Golfers will complete the second round on Tuesday morning beginning at 8 a.m., before starting on the scheduled third round with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m.
