Husker Bowlers Honored for Academic Success

Eight Nebraska bowlers were honored this week, as the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) unveiled its 2022-23 NTCA All-Academic scholar athletes.

Kathryn Bowman, Alexis Buchert, Crystal Elliott, Kendyl Hofmeister, Gwen Maeha, Jillian Martin, Amara Smith Speights and Kayla Verstraete were recognized for posting a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or better during the 2022-23 academic year. It marks the third appearance for Buchert (who finished the year with a 4.0 GPA), Hofmeister, Maeha and Smith Speights, and the second for Elliott. 

As a team, the Huskers were recognized by the NTCA as an All-Academic Team for posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic school year. NU was one of 42 programs to achieve this status and tied for eighth place with a 3.567 GPA.
