Nebraska Men's Tennis Head Coach Sean Maymi announced Friday that Anton Shepp will transfer from UT Arlington to Nebraska for the 2023-24 season.
Shepp, a 6-foot-2 junior from Hamilton, New Zealand, helps strengthen both the singles and doubles lineup for Nebraska.
Shepp spent his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Mavericks, recording 28 singles wins and 29 doubles victories. Shepp helped lead the team to the 2023 NCAA Tournament and clinched the conference championship win during singles play. Additionally, he was a First-Team All-WAC in both doubles and singles.
"We are thrilled to add Anton to the team," Maymi said. "His experience and level is going to help our program continue to improve."
Prior to college, Shepp competed for Next Generation Auckland, was named the Junior Sportsman of the Year, and had an ITA ranking of 198.
The son of Ethan and Barbara Shepp, Anton was born on Oct. 30, 2002. He has one sibling, Shontelle, and is majoring in Kinesiology.
