Huskers Defeat Omaha, Iowa Western in Spring Action

Omaha, Neb. - The Nebraska soccer team continued its spring season success on Sunday, defeating both Omaha and Iowa Western. 
 
The Huskers are now 5-0 with three matches remaining in the spring season. 

Game 1: Omaha
NU started with Sami Hauk in goal, along with Abbey Schwarz, Reagan Raabe, Sadie Waite, Florence Belzile, Eleanor Dale, Lauryn Anglim, Gwen Lane, Jordan Zade, Marissa Popoola and Sarah Weber

After a scoreless first half and a Weber shot off the crossbar in the 49th minute, Nebraska took game one against the Mavericks 1-0 on a Lane goal in the 70th minute. 

Game 2: Iowa Western
Nebraska's starting lineup for game two was as follows: Hauk, Haley Peterson, Ella Guyott, Kayma Carpenter, Lane, Zade, Popoola, Belzile, Weber, Dale and Emma Prososki
 
Weber got the Huskers on the board early in the first few minutes, before Dale followed with one of her own to bring the NU lead to 2-0 less than 10 minutes into the first half. 
 
In the final 45, freshman Carpenter added a goal off an assist from fellow freshman Abby Vacek. Maggie Altman added another finish in the 59th minute in route to the Huskers' 4-0 victory. 

Up next, the Huskers return to Hibner Stadium next Saturday for the first time this spring for a matchup against Kansas. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
