Weber Tabbed For U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team Roster

Sarah Weber of the Nebraska soccer team has been named to the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team roster for the upcoming Thorns Preseason Tournament in Portland, Ore.

The roster consists of all collegiate players, and Weber is one of only three players representing the Big Ten as she is joined by two athletes from Penn State.

Weber had a dominate 2022 season for the Huskers. The forward from Gretna, Neb., earned first-team All-Big Ten accolades as a leader of the Husker offense. She started all 20 games and led the team with 10 goals, while also adding five assists. Weber topped the conference standings with 81 shots on the season and was sixth in shots on goal with 28.

The U.S. team will play three matches against National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) teams from March 12-18 as the league continues its preseason training. Participating in the tournament from the NWSL are Portland Thorns FC, OL Reign and Racing Louisville.

The team opens against OL Reign on Sunday, March 12 at 4:30 p.m. CT, and then faces the Thorns at 9:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 15. The competition will then conclude with the U.S. matching up with Racing Louisville at 7 p.m. CT. on Saturday, March 18.
