Huskers Go 2-1 in Gulf Shores on Friday

The Nebraska beach volleyball team played three matches on Friday at the BadgerRam Beach Bash at West Public Beach in Gulf Shores, Ala., on Friday. The Huskers earned 3-2 wins over Huntington College and Berry College. In between those matches, Spring Hill defeated the Huskers, 5-0.

In the morning win over Huntingdon, Bekka Allick and Lexi Rodriguez teamed up for a 21-16, 9-21, 15-13 win at the No. 1 spot. Ally Batenhorst and Bergen Reilly won their No. 3 match, 26-24, 22-20. And Laney Choboy and Lindsay Krause earned a comeback win at the No. 4 spot, 19-21, 21-15, 15-11. The Huskers' exhibition pair of Maisie Boesiger and Andi Jackson also won, 21-16, 21-12. 

In the 3-2 win over Berry Allick and Rodriguez were victorious again, this time at the No. 2 spot (21-13, 24-22). Batenhorst and Reilly also picked up their second win of the day, 21-13, 21-11 at No. 3. And Boesiger and Jackson moved up to play as the Huskers' No. 4 pair and won their match, 21-17, 23-21. 

Nebraska, now 6-1 on the season, finishes the BadgerRam Beach Bash on Saturday at 9 a.m. against the University of Mobile.
