Luff Wins 110M Hurdles at Florida Relays

Darius Luff won the 110-meter hurdles title to lead the Nebraska track and field team at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla.  

Luff's first outdoor race of the season resulted in a win, as the indoor All-American posted a time of 13.70 to beat out a talented field of 18 hurdlers. 

Across the country at the Stanford Invitational, Erika Freyhof ran a lifetime-best in the 10,000 meters. Freyhof posted a time of 33:50.38, a personal best that ranks No. 2 in school history, to finish 15th in the race. 

In the men's open high jump in Florida, Reid Nelson posted the top mark at 6-9 3/4 (2.08m), his best as a collegiate. Micaylon Moore took third place in the men's triple jump with a mark of 48-11 3/4 (14.93m). Charlie Hoston was sixth, leaping 46-7 1/2 (14.21m). 

Garrison Hughes tied for sixth place in the men's pole vault after clearing 16-7 1/4 (5.06m). 

Back on the track, the Husker men took sixth place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:14.03. 

Kayla Hugg (55.22) and Ramonia Clarke (55.29) finished 11th and 12th, respectively in the women's 400 meters. Nick Bryant tallied a 13th-place finish in the men's 400 meters with a time of 48.39. 

Lorenzo Paissan placed 14th in the 100 meters in 10.83. Emma Algarin was 14th in the women's race, running 11.94. 

Meanwhile, Matthias Algarin, Kolby Heinerikson and Till Steinforth all competed at the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney, Neb., on Saturday. 

Steinforth (14.74) and Heinerikson (14.97) finished second and third, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles. Algarin was seventh at 15.38. 

Steinforth was fourth in the 100 meters (11.10), seventh in the pole vault (14-11, 4.55m) and ninth in the javelin (159-9, 48.69m).
