Taylor Latimer set a school record and won the weight throw with a launch of 70-2 1/4 (21.39m) in her season debut at the K-State Winter Invitational on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan.
With the school-record mark, Latimer currently ranks first nationally in the weight throw. The Valley Center, Kan., native also had a third-place finish with a distance of 52-11 (16.13m) in the shot put.
On the track, Darius Luff won the 60-meter hurdles with a finish of 7.83.
The Huskers continue the season when Nebraska hosts the Graduate Classic on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 13-14 at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.
