Tight End

On last year's game against Michigan

"Like you said, it was a close game. We battled. We made some plays. Offense and defense played well. Ultimately, it came down to just executing on offense. That's something that we've been preaching all week and all season long. Just executing and finishing games. If we execute on offense, I like our chances this weekend."

On what he's seen working for both Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers
"We had a great practice this morning and have a good game plan so far. I trust every single one of those guys in our quarterback room. They can both throw the ball really well. Whoever Coach Joseph and Coach Whipple feel is the best option for us, they will choose. They are both great athletes and great leaders and two of my great friends. I'm excited to be catching balls and playing with them."

On if he tries to pick them up as a captain and a friend
"Everyone has an opinion on their play. Being a captain, I was over at the women's basketball game yesterday at the pep rally and that was kind of the big thing I was asked to talk about. One of my main points was that when you have friends and teammates that need to get picked up, you need to do it. It's also hard times when you have to correct things with them.  That's something that when you're doing things really well you are with them, and when they need to be picked up, you're there to pick them up as well. I love those guys. They don't really care what everyone thinks of them. Like you said, everyone has an opinion, but great players and good friends."

On Michigan's program overall
"Michigan is one team that is very physical. I really feel that the Big Ten is a very physical league. Michigan obviously had great ends last year and great interior defensive lineman this year. Their whole backend is very physical. Overall, they are a great team. I think being physical is a part of the game. If you aren't physical, then you have to get physical."
