Huskers Remain Undefeated on Day Two Against Falcons

The No. 13 Nebraska rifle team remained undefeated on Sunday, defeating No. 11 Air Force 4,707-4,699. With the win, the Huskers improve to 4-0 on the season.

Junior All-American Cecelia Ossi (1,180) and freshman Emma Rhode (1,180) placed first and second overall. Junior All-American Madelynn Erickson joined them in the top five overall, finishing fifth with a score of 1,175.

"The team did a great job," said Head Coach Mindy Miles. "We still need to work on consistency between matches, but I am optimistic that will come as the season develops. Cecelia and Emma both had a great weekend with 1,181 and 1,180 aggregates. Maddie did a very good job in smallbore. I am excited for her to break into the 590s this year."

In the smallbore, Huskers earned the top three spots. Erickson was first with a score of 587, Ossi was second with a 585 and Rhode was third, also with a 585.

Huskers also took the top two spots in the air rifle. Ossi placed first with a 595 while Rhode followed her in second with a 595.

Nebraska will travel to No. 7 Ohio State next weekend for competition in Columbus, Ohio. The match is set to start at 8 a.m. (central) and results can be followed at https://results.megalink.no/#!/
