Nebraska rifle captain Cecelia Ossi placed 22nd out of 63 shooters at the 2022 Rifle and Pistol World Championships this weekend in Cairo, Egypt.
Ossi represented the Huskers and the United States in the smallbore event of the championships and shot a 578. She shot a 190 in the kneeling position, a 195 in the prone position and a 193 in the standing position.
"I learned a lot from the experience and have a new perspective on international competition," Ossi said. "I am excited to bring back my experience and train on a new level in preparation for my next opportunity! I can't thank my coaches and family enough for supporting me and helping me to have this opportunity. Without them and all of God's blessings, I would never have been here this week!"
Ossi will return to competition with Nebraska this weekend against Air Force on Oct. 22 and 23. Both matches will start at 8 a.m.
