Fresh off a tournament title at the Badger Invitational in Wisconsin (Sept. 18-20), the Nebraska women's golf team has captured top-20 national rankings in both the Golfweek and WGCA Mizuno Coaches Poll.
The Huskers, who opened the season with a runner-up finish and a school-record score of 835 (-29) at the Green Wave Classic in New Orleans (Sept. 12-13), entered the Golfweek rankings at No. 19 before adding a No. 20 ranking by the coaches.
Nebraska is ranked directly behind No. 18 LSU in the Golfweek poll, and the Tigers are the only team so far to notch a head-to-head win over the Huskers, which came at the Green Wave Classic. LSU is ranked No. 8 in the Mizuno WGCA Top 25.
The Huskers own head-to-head wins over No. 28 Tulsa, No. 32 Old Dominion, No. 33 Notre Dame, No. 37 Wisconsin, No. 39 Washington State, No. 40 North Florida, No. 42 Illinois and No. 44 Colorado State, which are ranked in the Golfweek top 50.
