McGowens Shares Big Ten Honor

Lincoln – Bryce McGowens shared Big Ten Conference Freshman-of-the-Week honors as the conference announced its weekly honors Monday. McGowens shared the honor with Michigan's Kobe Bufkin.

McGowens had 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in Sunday's loss to Kansas State. It marked his eighth double-figure effort of the season, as McGowens leads all Big Ten Freshmen in both scoring (16.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.1 rpg). It is his third weekly Big Ten honor.

The Huskers finish non-conference action on Wednesday night by hosting Kennesaw State. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m. and tickets for the contest are available at Huskers.com. Wednesday's game will also feature a halftime performance from Red Panda.
