“I love Adrian. He’s been playing lights out. Even with the nicks and bruises, I wouldn't want anyone else to be our quarterback. He gives 110 percent every play, but everyone has mess-ups, and I have my mess-ups. But it’s about how you come back from it. I believe if there was more time left on the clock we could have made something happen.”

“Coach sat me down right before that, but I just told him that I want to get back on it because after the Michigan State game I just wanted to not come out even though I was exhausted.”

“That was me and Marques Buford Jr.’s first punt. He booted it and that was what we needed from him. For me and Marques it’s a competition thing, even at practice. It’s important to get off the ball and then cover. He is a good punt-returner.”
On maintaining unity despite losing record
“It feels like everybody’s together. We stick around just like how the stadium does. There’s no going home. We set up meetings for defense on our own, but you see the folks who do and don’t travel and everyone’s there getting extra work and film before the week starts.”
On the performance of the defense
“I wouldn’t say there's disappointment but there's always things that we can fix. I feel like we went out there and played great football and did what we needed to do. We went out and played Nebraska football and Blackshirt football like we have been doing this whole time.”
On Deontai Williams intercepting Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara
“It should have been two, but we don’t need to talk about that. We just put the pressure on them. Coach didn’t want them taking shots, but he wanted to get them started first. Once we got on them in the backfield and had them moving around a little bit we knew that he wasn’t locked in on his receivers but was just trying to make a play. Deontai came up with a great pick and we got tripped up but we’re going to work on that.”
