Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska Rifle team has its fourth match of the season against Army West Point this Saturday, Oct. 23 starting at 8 a.m. The match is the Huskers' second home match of the season.

The Huskers (3-0) are ranked 14th nationally in this week's College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) top 20 poll. They have wins against No. 7 Ohio State (Sept. 25) and No. 20 UTEP (Oct. 9).
Head Coach Mindy Miles sees the team's potential to be even more successful. She says that the team "is better than the scores we have posted in previous matches. I'm looking for them to show what they are capable of this weekend."
The match against Nebraska is Army West Point's first of the season. They are led by sophomore captain Kyle Kutz, who had a top-five finish in the ISSF Junior World Championships and finished fourth at the NCAA championships last year. He also earned CRCA All-America honors last year.
The Huskers are 28-16 overall against Army. In the last matchup on Feb. 27, 2021, Army came out with a victory, scoring a 4,692 to the Huskers' 4,661. Nebraska is 4-3 at home against Army.
Most recently, Nebraska defeated The Citadel on Oct. 15 with a score of 4,677-4,544. They swept the top five spots with solid performances from Cecelia Ossi (1,174), Madelynn Erickson (1,173), Mackenzie Strauch (1,157), Kinga Aletto (1,152), and Elena Flake (1,150).
Miles and the team are excited about their second home matchup this Saturday and would love fan support: "The Husker community is very supportive of all their sports. I would love to see the community come out to our home match and support the rifle team. The sport is incredibly unique and fun to learn."
After the match against Army, the Huskers will face the Virginia Military Institute on Nov. 7 in Lexington, Va.
