On the challenging week

“I have never been a part of a game like that versus a Big Ten opponent here. It felt good. It felt like if you just execute on all cylinders like we are capable of, and that we do from time to time, but then putting it all together it was great to see. Unbelievable atmosphere tonight. I feel just so blessed to be in this position really trying to soak it all in like I only have so many of these left.”

On the night game atmosphere
“Literally the best. No place cares about football as much as Nebraska. That is why I am here. That is why I was drawn here, so it is great to see it all in full force. The light show going into the fourth quarter was different. Unbelievable atmosphere. Bring it next week.”

On being a pass rusher
“I like coverage, but I also like unabated to the quarterback. I am not going to complain about that. I have to get the ball out next time.”

On winning by a large margin
“We execute on all cylinders and then going into halftime I think that was like a test in and of itself, like how are we going to respond? Are we going to feel good about ourselves pump the brakes? Are we going to have a better half than the first half? So we challenged ourselves at halftime and the guys responded. Unbelievable all the depth from top to bottom was great today. We have to carry it over onto the practice field and we have to keep this momentum going. We have a big week this week.”

On the Michigan night game next weekend
“That is literally what you live for. Like you cannot draw it up any better. They got a piece of us last time. I was not there. I was injured, but I watched the game, still have a sour taste in my mouth. So we are playing for respect. We are playing to represent Nebraska. We are playing to win.”

On walking away with a win
“I was saying in the locker room, like we are going to recover better, like your body recovers better after a win. Just emotionally you are in a lot better place and it feels good to reap the reward of all the work we put in. This one feels good, but next week is going to feel better.”

On freshman running back Jaquez Yant
“You do not really want him running angry, not even in practice. Talented dude, physical, hard to bring down and on his long run he does that in practice. Like he finishes runs in practice even if it is in shells. We are just like ‘Look at this dude running’ but today it showed. So hat off to him for stepping up today hats off to everybody for stepping up, and like I said we are on to the next one. This feels great. Do not get me wrong, but we are 1 and 0 right now in our eyes looking to get 2 and 0.”

On William Przystup’s 84-yard punt
“That is a great moment to bounce back from adversity like that and to answer the bell like that, and he did not make the ball roll. Something did though. I tribute that to his attitude and his preparation all week and how he responded. I mean all of our special teamers have responded this week. I am proud of them for that, and we have to continue to dig in. We have more work to do.”

On offensive productivity in first quarter
“It was awesome. Seeing them execute and we did not feel like we had our backs up against the wall but we are like we are going to go execute. We are not about to kill this momentum in the stadium right now, so it was a different feeling and it was kind of a new feeling and it felt great.”

On forcing a fumble at the goal line in the second quarter
“They were going to run it in or do a move dinky pass. It was just about who was playing harder down there, and I got a lasso call from Reimer, basically just says go make a play. I got the quarterback and that is what happened. I think Deontre Thomas broke through the line too, so if I was not there he was going to make the play. So we are just playing hard down there. I love how our defense is playing right now. We have nasty dudes up front, linebackers that can run sideline to sideline DBs that did not have their best performance today, but are the backbone of our defense that bring that swagger and energy every day, and that hold it down when we need it to be done. So love how we are executing as a unit right now. We have so much to improve on and we are looking to do that.”
