One of the top golfers in Nebraska history, Scott Gutschewski will be back on the PGA TOUR in 2021-22 after becoming one of 50 players on the 2020-21 Korn Ferry Tour to earn a PGA TOUR card this season. Gutschewski was one of the 25 golfers to receive his card on the 18th green of Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Ind., on Sunday, Sept. 5.
It will be Gutschewski's sixth season on the PGA TOUR after earning making his first tour appearance from 2005 through 2007. He returned to the tour in both 2009 and 2011. Gutschewski, who resides in Elkhorn, lettered at Nebraska in 1997, 1998 and 1999, helping the Huskers to a 14th-place team finish at the NCAA Championships in 1999.
Gutschewski earned his PGA TOUR card on the strength of his tie for 10th at the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron and a tie for 18th at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. The 46-event 2020-21 Korn Ferry Tour season came to a close at the Tour Championships presented by United Leasing & Finance over the weekend.
