On bouncing back from the loss
“Yeah it was disappointing but I think we came into practice today and just worked real hard. You can tell the switch. Of course we have been working hard the whole offseason but the demeanor was keep rolling.”
On the game at Illinois
“Honestly it was just little mistakes because the hard work was there. We were still grinding and pushing. Honestly I cannot really tell you what happened. I am still confused and shocked but I just know with this group we are just going to keep pushing. With the heart and the demeanor of the team we will be real strong.”
On the mistakes against Illinois
“Well honestly you cannot move on from that but you have to get ready for the next week. You know the saying day by day week by week. We got to be ready to roll. We cannot just stick in the ground. We cannot just keep thinking about the last game.”
On his first home game at Nebraska
“I am really excited. I have seen thousands of videos. We have the best fan base in the nation. I have seen the tunnel walk. I see when they run out. I hear that chant and the band. They say it’s like a feeling you will not be able to explain. You get chill bumps. I cannot wait to feel it.”
On Fordham
“Of course make a statement and show that that last game does not define our season. It is a 12 game season. We can turn around just in a matter of games. Honestly I forgot they were FCS. I just looked at it as another opponent. We just have to go out there and earn our respect at the end of the day.”
On the outside linebacker performance
“I feel like the outside linebackers as a whole did good but of course we can do great. We can do better. Coach (Mike) Dawson is going to push us every day to make sure we can do the best as we can. Caleb (Tannor) and Garrett (Nelson) were great. They played great and I am excited to see how we progress throughout the year.”
On his individual sack goals
“Of course I want like 20 but I am a day by day game by game type of guy. So as much as I can get in a game that is what I reach for.”
On the defensive performance
“I like the way we played. Real aggressive but as we can tell we can get way better. With Coach (Erik) Chinander and the coaching staff on the defense we are going to get way better. I am real excited throughout the year the progress we are going to make.”
