Huskers' 2021 Season Set

Lincoln – The Nebraska wrestling team's 2021 slate has been set and features three home meets and nine total opponents, the Big Ten conference announced Thursday.
 
Returning to the mat for the first time in 306 days, the Huskers open the season at the Devaney Center against Minnesota on Friday, Jan. 8. Last season, NU earned a 29-12 victory over the Golden Gophers to close the regular season and extend their dual win streak to six.
 
Nebraska hits the road for the first time in 2021 the following weekend to face Iowa. The Huskers meet the Hawkeyes in Iowa City for the second straight season on Friday, Jan. 15.
 
Maryland and Northwestern make the trip to Lincoln on Saturday, Jan. 23 for a tri-meet at Devaney.  NU remains home for a second straight weekend, hosting its final home dual of the season against Wisconsin on Sunday, Jan. 31.
 
The Huskers finish the season on the road starting Saturday, Feb. 6 at Indiana. Nebraska will wrestle in a quad meet against the Hoosiers, Michigan State and Rutgers in Bloomington. The team concludes the regular season at Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 21.
 
The Huskers finished the 2019-20 season 11-3, including a 6-3 mark against conference opponents. The team finished second at the 2020 Big Ten Championships, the program's best finish at the conference tournament as a member of the Big Ten. The season marked Head Coach Mark Manning's 10th consecutive campaign of ten or more wins and the 18th time in 20 seasons Manning accrued least 10 victories.
