Husker Student-Athletes to Share Personal Stories Through “N Our Voice” Platform

The Nebraska Athletic Department will launch a new feature on Huskers.com titled 'N Our Voice' which will allow Husker student-athletes to create more personal and authentic connections with fans.
 
Nebraska has partnered with FanWord to develop 'N Our Voice' and give the student-athletes a platform to share their own personal stories. Founded by former Nebraska student-athlete Christopher Aumueller, FanWord is a storytelling agency that helps sports teams, athletes and brands bring their stories to life.
 
"Our Husker student-athletes have so many interesting and diverse backgrounds," Senior Deputy Athletic Director Garrett Klassy said. "We wanted to provide an opportunity to use their own voices to share experiences, challenges and successes with fans, while also continuing to promote their individual brand. When our teams are back to competing, 'N Our Voice' can be an outlet for athletes to share their thinking during key moments on the field or the court."
 
FanWord has partnered with other colleges including Alabama, Purdue and SMU. They have also worked with the College World Series and brands like the Arbor Day Foundation, among other clients.
 
A native of Bayreuth, Germany, Aumueller was a four-year letterwinner for the Nebraska men's tennis team from 2009 to 2012, earning first-team All-Big Ten and Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012.
 
"As a former Husker athlete, I can't describe how much this partnership means to me," Aumueller said. "My experiences as a Husker and the support I have received from UNL and the athletic department are major reasons why FanWord exists in the first place. Having now an opportunity to work with the athletic department and tell the stories of their student-athletes is beyond exciting. This is a very special day for all of us here at FanWord."
