Aurora, Neb., native Marlin Seeman was a specialist four in the Army. He served in the Big Red One infantry division of the Army in Vietnam. In 1967, he was critically injured in a firefight and was medically evacuated. For his actions, he was awarded numerous medals including the Purple Heart and National Defense Service Medal. After retiring from service, he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Nebraska and is now serving in his fourth term as the mayor of Aurora.
