Huskers Second Heading Into Final Day of Bearcat Open

Fairview, Ill. - The Nebraska bowling team went 3-2 on Saturday and now have a record of 5-5 at the Bearcat Hammer Open. The Huskers finished the day in second place with a pinfall of 4,747 heading into the traditional style matches on Sunday.

Nebraska began the day by collecting a win against Wisconsin-Whitewater (906-873). The Huskers lost to McKendree (1,102-966). They rebounded and won two matches against Belmont Abbey (867- --) and Dominican (1,172-746). Nebraska ended the day with a close loss to Central Missouri (850-836).

Individual bowling began today and four Huskers currently sit in the top 25. Seniors Raquel Orozco sits in 11th (980) followed by Allison Morris in 12th (979). Freshman Amara Smith-Speights is in 17th (944) and Junior Leah Glazer is 21st (939). Senior Estefania Prieto is 72nd (580) and  Junior Michelle Guarro sits in 98th (325).

No. 2 seed Nebraska will begin tournament play Sunday morning against No. 1 seed McKendree.
