Huskers Conclude Play in Waco

Waco, Texas--Isabel Adrover Gallego and Kristina Novak wrapped up play at the Waco ITF on Monday evening. Both Huskers competed in the 48-player singles qualifying draw that began Sunday at the University of Baylor.

In the first round, Adrover Gallego fell in a tough third-set super tiebreaker to Kailey Evans. The freshman from Mallorca, Spain moves to 3-3 in fall singles competition.

Kristina Novak picked up an opening-round win over Jessica Hinojosa Gomez of Baylor. In 2019, Hinojosa was named All-Big 12 Second Team while going 18-12 in singles for the Bears. In the second round of qualifying singles, Novak dropped her match to Chanelle Van Nguyen, a former NCAA quarterfinalist out of UCLA. After going 1-1 in Waco, Novak holds a 4-3 fall record.
