Freshmen pair Isabel Adrover Gallego and Kristina Novak are set to compete at the Waco ITF Tournament hosted by the University of Baylor. The 48-player qualifying draw will begin October 13th at The Hurt Tennis Center (hard court), with prize money of $25,000.
Adrover Gallego has found success throughout fall tournament play with a singles record of 4-2. At the Lawrence ITF in early September, she advanced to the main draw of the tournament after going 2-0 in the qualifying matchups. The Mallorca, Spain native, defeated Jada Robinson 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 before falling in the second round of the main draw. At the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Adrover Gallego beat Constance Branstine of USC in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
Novak has also made an early impact for the Huskers in fall tournament play with a 3-2 singles record. In her Husker debut at the Lawrence ITF, she picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Ana Baranovski. At the Milwaukee Classic, Novak defeated Ana Neffa of USC 6-4, 6-4 and moved on to defeat May Kimhi of FAU in three sets, 6-7(0), 6-3, 6-3.
