Junior, Offensive Line

On practice
“Everyone feels good. I mean obviously we were a bit banged up, but the staff does a good job of taking care of us and making sure that we play to our whole ability. So far pretty good.”

On quarterback Noah Vedral
“Nothing that I would change. Our quarterbacks do a great job of just being ready and like he was saying earlier, their job is to just be ready no matter what happens or who is playing. Whatever happens, if Adrian (Martinez) comes out then next man out. We don’t believe in the drop off, so he stepped up and he took control and he did a fantastic job. He did exactly what we expected of him.”

On what Noah Vedral is like in the huddle
“Well, we don’t ever really huddle. But, he is just like ‘hey, let’s go out there, we have done this 100 times in practice, it’s no different. The only difference is we have 90,000 people screaming and yelling. He has the most experience in this offense, and it is very evident of that. He is very calm, collected and he is just ready to play football.”

On Wan'Dale Robinson
“I mean he is just a fantastic football player and as time goes on and the more experience he gets, the more reps he gets he will be able to see things clearer and you can communicate faster. Plays I was able to get around the guys, if everyone did their jobs and got the blocks, then led me up to the safety. I was able to get my block and he was there for the right reason and just took off. He is a quick dude, so as soon as we get him in on the field it is going to be a big gain.”

On Luke McCaffrey
“He is like the Energizer bunny. I have never seen someone that can just keep sprinting and not get tired. He is, like what you guys were talking about earlier with Noah (Vedral), as soon as his (Vedral’s) helmet came off he was on the field. We were still getting Noah (Vedral) off the ground and I look around and was like ‘Luke’s here’. He embodies the ‘hey we are ready, next man up’ and he is a young guy, but he knows what he is doing. I mean that is part of the thing why he is so quick and just ready is because he is here to play football, and he is really good at playing football. When he comes, he knows what he is going to do and we know that he knows what he is going to do.”

On if Luke McCaffrey was excited to take his first snap
“Oh, he was so excited. It is just funny, I mean, he’s excited but he is also calm. He made the right reads and he did exactly what he needed to do and it was awesome.”

On the snapping
“Right now, we have to figure out a way to get it right. There are too many snaps that are going wild or going long and messing up the reads. We have to find a way to fix it. It is on all of us. We have to find some type of way to get those snaps right to his chest. There is no excuse for it now. In week seven we need perfect snaps and it is just the number one rule of our center and that is what we expect from our center. He knows he needs to fix it, and he has been working on it.”

On Minnesota linebacker Carter Coughlin
“Same as always. He is an edge rusher with speed guy so we just have to get ready. We have to give a great pocket. I mean he is a quick player and he is a really good player as well, so we just need to be ready and make sure we are ready for the speed.”

On how the team can help with the center’s snapping
“Just making sure we stay focused. A lot of it is that we believe he has done it before and he has done it multiple times and it is not every single snap that goes haywire, it is the occasional [snap]. I think it just might be a little bit of focus or it might be a little bit of mechanics, but whatever it is we need to make sure we help him lock-in and get it back to the quarterback. Like I said, the number one job is we need to [get] the ball to the quarterback.”
