On if his ticket request has grown since Saturday
“It’s probably about the same. I have been asking teammates for tickets since this spring. They’ve been in pretty high demand. Nothing too crazy.”

On if he went to any games at Folsom Field growing up
“I didn’t spend a lot of my childhood out in Denver, so I went to a couple of games when I was getting recruited there, but that’s it.”

On the overall attitude of the team
“It’s a new week. Obviously everyone is watching film and making corrections there. We are just looking forward to playing CU next week and looking at the game plan the coaches have installed for us.”

On if it hurt to not play in last year’s game against Colorado
“It hurt a little bit. Whatever is better for the team I am willing to do.”

On if not playing in last year’s game against Colorado increases his appetite to play this week
“I’m definitely excited. I’m ready to go out there and compete this week. Looking at the game this week, we’ll get that later today. I’m excited to see how I fit into the scheme this week.”

On if he was close to choosing to play at Colorado
“No, I knew in my mind I was going to come here.”

On if he knows on any guys on the Colorado team
“I know a couple of guys on their team from high school that I have played against. Not really too close with them right now, but I remember them from high school.”

On what the biggest thing for him has been to get to the point where he is at now
“The biggest thing is an attitude change. Just a lot of bad habits the way Mike Riley had his system and how Coach Frost wanted his thing. So it took a little while to discard all of those bad habits, and I saw what it took to get on the field. I got to see where we were going, especially after a game like Ohio State where we were just so close. You really have no choice. Your brain just tells you to do what he says because he (Coach Frost) knows what he is doing, and I’ve been doing that ever since.”

On how he was able to keep his head up when things weren’t going well in his time at Nebraska
“I came here to play football. I think the biggest thing for me is that I’m just going to do my job each day. And if things work in its favor, it does. If not, it doesn't. If not, then I did all that I can to provide for the team. Whatever is better for the team.”

On what the defense has seen that they can improve on
“I think the biggest thing is having clearer eyes. Just making sure we have correct reads and another big thing is hustling to the ball and making sure we have all of the hats to the ball.”

On his reaction to moving to safety
“They kind of beat me to the punch because I was actually going to ask them about playing safety. I knew that we weren’t going to be extremely deep at that position this year and going into the spring. I mean I was definitely excited that we were both kind of on the same page, and I was presented a challenge at learning that new position at a rapid pace. I’ve been having fun with it ever since they told me that.”

On when the discussion of the change from corner to safety took place
“We talked about it a little bit in November.”

On the toughest part of learning the safety position
“You are basically the quarterback of the defense, so you've got to know what the linebackers are doing. You've got to know what D-line is doing. You've got to know all the stunts that they are doing. The biggest thing is at corner you were just used to getting the call from someone. At safety, you have to actively look at the formation, anticipate the motions and all of that stuff because one call can go from another. It’s more of a mental game than physical.”

On if he likes that aspect of safety
“I like it a lot.”

On if the injury to Deontai Williams gives Nebraska the chance to show the depth at the safety position
“We would definitely like for Deontai to come back as soon as he can whenever he is ready, but also I think it can attest how versatile our secondary members are.”

On what he is pursuing as a master's degree now that he has graduated
“I am in higher education right now, and I should be done with that in the spring.”

On what his goal is with his master's program
“I want to get into some sort of athletic administration field or become a high school athletic director of some sort.”

On Colorado’s receiver Laviska Shenault Jr.
“He is a talented individual. We got to see him last year, and he made some incredible plays. This time around we've just got to make sure we detail in film. Where he is lined up can tell the whole story. Just make sure we know what we are doing, know who we are going against and execute the game plan.”

On Colorado quarterback Steven Montez
“Montez is a talented quarterback. He can run. He can throw. He can throw on the run. Just having eye discipline and just making sure we condense that pocket because that is going to be big for us this week.”
