The Nebraska soccer team returns home to host Oklahoma and Gonzaga at Hibner Stadium this weekend as the final non-conference matches before Big Ten play begins.
Friday night's tilt between former conference foes Nebraska and Oklahoma (4-1-1) is set for 7:05 p.m. (CT) as part of American Outlaws Night, which honors the fan base of the U.S. National Soccer Teams. The first 500 fans into the game will receive a free roller banner. In addition, the halftime entertainment is the KC Disc Dogs.
Sunday is "Pepsi Pack the House" at Hibner Stadium, featuring $1 admission to the match between the Huskers and Bulldogs (4-2). The first 500 fans will receive a Pepsi 12-pack voucher. In addition, it's Family Funday, which includes face painting, balloon twisting stations and inflatables for families to enjoy.
Fans can purchase tickets to each game by calling 1-800-8 BIG RED or by visiting Huskers.com/tickets. Both matches this weekend will be streamed on BTN+ (subscription required).
Last Time Out
The Huskers split their matches in California last weekend. NU defeated Long Beach State on Friday, 2-1, before falling to No. 4 USC on Sunday by a 2-0 margin.
Next Up
The Huskers open Big Ten play next weekend when they visit Purdue (Friday at 6 p.m.) and Indiana (Sunday at noon).
Kicking Off
• Senior goalkeeper Aubrei Corder continues her climb up Nebraska's career records charts. Corder moved into first place on the career goalkeeper minutes played list over the weekend, passing Karina LeBlanc (6,308) on Sunday. Corder has played 6,374 minutes in her career at Nebraska.
• Nebraska's devoted fan base continued its strong attendance numbers during the first weekend at Hibner Stadium this season. The Huskers saw two crowds of more than 1,000 fans against Clemson (1,130) and Baylor (1,287) two weeks ago at home. During each of the first four years at Hibner Stadium, the Huskers averaged more than 1,000 fans per home game. NU has ranked in the top 25 nationally and in the top two of the Big Ten in average attendance during all four years at the venue.
Scouting the Oklahoma Sooners
• Oklahoma is 4-1-1 this season following a split at Arizona and Arizona State last weekend. The Sooners opened the season with a win over Albany before topping Arkansas on the road in overtime. OU tied intrastate rival Oklahoma State on Aug. 29 before earning an overtime win over Tulsa on Sept. 1.
• Nebraska leads the all-time series against Oklahoma, 13-4-1, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 1996. Last season, Nebraska emerged with a 2-1 victory on the road.
• Head Coach Matt Potter is 59-69-21 in his eighth season at Oklahoma. He holds a career record of 147-138-47 in his 17th year overall. Potter is assisted by Paul Hart and Brandi Vega.

Scouting the Gonzaga Bulldogs
• Gonzaga is 4-2 this season with both losses coming against ranked opponents. The Bulldogs lost their season opener to No. 19 Texas before reeling off three consecutive wins against Sam Houston State, Colorado State and Montana. On Sept. 5, Gonzaga fell to No. 17 Washington State, but bounced back with a 4-0 win over Seattle in the Bulldogs' most recent outing.
• Gonzaga travels to Manhattan, Kan., to face Kansas State on Thursday night before visiting Nebraska.
• Sunday afternoon will be the first meeting in series history between Nebraska and Gonzaga.
• Head Coach Chris Watkins is 24-14-5 in his third season overall. He is assisted by Josh Patino, Lexi Brown and Tyler Brown.
