Lincoln -- The Nebraska men's tennis team (9-11, 1-4 Big Ten) will host top-ranked Ohio State and No. 30 Penn State this weekend at the Dillon Tennis Center. NU will host a No. 1 team for the first time since January 28, 2005, when it played defending national champion Baylor in Lincoln.

The Huskers are set to play the Buckeyes on Friday, April 5, at 5 p.m. CT before taking on the Nittany Lions on Sunday, April 7, at Noon CT. 

Scouting Ohio State • The top-ranked Buckeyes come off a pair of wins over Wisconsin, 6-1, on March 29 and Minnesota, 7-0, on March 31. • OSU has three singles players and three of doubles teams in the ITA rankings top-100: No. 1 JJ Wolf, No. 24 John McNally, No. 68 Kyle Seelig; as well as the duos of No. 5 Joyce/Tubert, No. 19 Seelig/Tubert and No. 33 Joyce/Wolf. • JJ Wolf has only dropped two sets on the whole season and is a perfect 23-0 in 24 matches -- he's the No. 285 in the ATP pro rankings.

Scouting Penn State • The #30 Nittany Lions come off a pair of Big Ten matches and a non-conference contest last weekend, beating #35 Minnesota, 5-2, Wisconsin, 6-1, and St. Bonaventure, 7-0. • Penn State is on a seven-match win streak, and holds a 2-3 record away from home, with its losses coming at Harvard, at Princeton and at #49 Central Florida. • PSU has two singles players and a doubles team in the ITA rankings top-100: No. 31 Constant De La Bassetiere, No. 95 Christian Lakoseljac; along with No. 8 De La Bassetiere/Gabriel Nemeth.

Last Time Out • Nebraska fell short in a pair of tough Big Ten road matches last weekend, losing to #14 Illinois, 7-0, on Saturday, March 30, before falling at Northwestern, 5-2, on Sunday, March 31. • Senior Toby Boyer and freshman Victor Moreno Lozano notched NU's two singles wins against the Wildcats. • Boyer knocked off Dominik Stary at No. 1, 6-0, 4-6, 7-6, while Moreno bested Simen Bratholm, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4.

Up Next • The Huskers will travel to Indiana to finish off its Big Ten road campaign this year, as Nebraska takes on the Hoosiers on Saturday, April 13, and the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday, April 14. Both matches will start at 11 a.m. CT (Noon ET). 

Boyer Continues to Lead Huskers • Senior Toby Boyer continues to dominate the No. 1 singles spot in Nebraska’s lineup, posting a 14-3 mark so far, including four wins against ranked opponents. • The Ham Lake, Minn., native earned Co-Big Ten Player of the Week honors on March 28 as well as the No. 93 spot in the ITA singles rankings on April 2. • Boyer is on track to become the sixth-winningest athlete in Nebraska men's tennis history, as he is one win shy of tying with Chris Aumueller, who had 76 wins from 2009-12.

Klousia Takes Over No. 2 Spot • After 16 matches at No. 4 and only four at No. 3 last year, junior Micah Klousia stepped up to take over Nebraska’s No. 2 singles position – he has completed all of his 14 spring matches at that spot so far. • Despite several tough opponents, including three ranked in the top-125, Klousia has notched six wins on the season.

Freshmen Make Early ImpactVictor Moreno Lozano and William Gleason have been strong assets to Nebraska’s lineup, gaining ground at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots.  • Victor Moreno, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, holds the team’s second-best spring record with a 10-8 mark – 5-4 at No. 3 and 5-4 at No. 4. • Gleason, a Lincoln native and Lincoln Southwest 2018 graduate, has an 8-8 spring record, with five wins at No. 3 and three at No. 4.
