Nebraska gymnast, Charlie Giles, earned B1G Freshman of the Week for his performance against Iowa on March 2, becoming the second Husker to earn the honor.
The Lake Zurich, Ill., native set a new career-best score on vault (14.70) at the meet against Iowa.
"What a great honor for Charlie who is really beginning to do all the right things necessary to make himself the best gymnast possible," said head coach Chuck Chmelka. "It is great to see all the hard work paying off for him."
As a team, the Nebraska men’s gymnastics team fell short to Iowa, 403.550 - 406.700. However, the Huskers still had strong accomplishments, claiming three event titles against the No. 10 Iowa Hawkeyes. Anton Stephenson claimed the floor event title (14785), Giles claimed the vault title (14.70) and Jake Bonnay claimed the high bar title (13.85).
