Huskers Finish Competition at Three Meets

The Nebraska track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend as the Huskers were spread across the country competing in three meets on Saturday. 

Kristina Insingo won the shot put title at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational with a throw of 50-0 3/4 (15.26m) on her final attempt. 

At the Florida Relays, the NU women took 10th in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:35.64, which was the fifth-fastest time in school history. The Husker women also raced in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing 20th in 45.45. 

Mayson Conner led the NU men at the Texas Relays with a clearance of 7-2 1/4 (2.19m) to finish fourth in the high jump. It was an outdoor PR for the freshman. Luke Siedhoff placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 13.74. 

Alex Meyer earned fourth place in the discus after a toss of 177-8 (54.17m). Shelby Brown finished seventh in section B with a season-best 162-2 (49.43m). 

Burger Lambrechts took 10th place in the shot put at 59-10 1/2 (18.25m). Shylia Riley was 12th in the long jump at 19-4 (5.89m). 

The Huskers will host the Husker Spring Invitational next Friday and Saturday at Ed Weir Stadium. The hammer throw will be the only event contested on Friday, and it begins at 4 p.m. Saturday's action starts at 11 a.m.
