Podraza Begins Decathlon at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - Competition at the Texas Relays began Wednesday at Mike A. Myers Stadium with the decathlon.

In the event, Zach Podraza represented Nebraska and is currently in 15th place after five events with a total score of 3,617 points.

Podraza started the day with the 100-meter dash and ran a time of 11.38. In the long jump, Podraza set a PR of 22-5 3/4 (6.85m). His previous best was 21-10 1/4 (6.66m). Podraza finished the day with a toss of 39-0 1/2 (11.90m) in the shot put, a clearance of 6-4 3/4 (1.95m) in the high jump and a time of 52.50 in the 400 meters.

Podraza will resume the decathlon at the Texas Relays at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The rest of the team will split up and will begin action at the Texas Relays, Florida Relays, Bobcat Invitational and Mike Fanelli Track Classic on Thursday. Live results for all meets can be followed at Huskers.com
