Huskers Sign Chloe & Ellie Kuckelman to 2019 Class

Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Nebraska Women's Tennis Program officially welcomes twins, Chloe and Ellie Kuckelman, to the 2019-2020 roster. The incoming freshmen will join the Huskers out of Overland Park, Kan. Chloe and Ellie achieved their highest national rankings in the spring of 2018 at No. 50 and No. 55, respectively.

Chloe and Ellie are currently ranked as the No. 1 and No. 2 in their home state. As seniors at Blue Valley North High school, they have helped the Mustangs to three consecutive 6A Kansas State championships. In the 2018 6A Singles Championship match last month, Chloe defeated Ellie, 6-4, 6-4. In the 2017 6A Singles Championship, Ellie defeated Chloe 6-4, 6-4.

"They have had incredible high school careers and competed at the highest levels nationally. We couldn't be more pleased. The future looks bright for the Huskers." Head Coach Scott Jacobson stated.

Outside of high school, the twins play club tennis for Kansas City United. In club competition, Chloe has a 25-15 overall record and a 6-3 record against fellow four-star players. Ellie has an impressive 28-11 mark, with an 11-3 record against other four-star players.

The sisters had a competitive list of schools to choose from, but Nebraska was the perfect fit for the twins to continue their tennis careers together.

"We are incredibly excited to have Ellie and Chloe join our Husker family," Coach Jacobson said. "Most importantly, they are two incredible human beings and part of a tremendous family. It's truly an honor and a privilege to have them representing Nebraska. Both will make this institution proud, both on and off the court."
