Huskers Host South Dakota State for 2018 Season Opener

Nebraska vs. South Dakota State
Friday, Sept. 28, 5 p.m.
Devaney Natatorium

The Nebraska swimming and diving team kicks of the 2018-19 season as they host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Friday, Sept. 28 at the Devaney Natatorium. The dual meet between the Huskers and Jackrabbits is set for 5 p.m., and admission is free.

Friday's meet will be the first regular season competition for both the Huskers and the Jackrabbits. The Jackrabbits compete in the Missouri Valley Conference and are led by Doug Humphrey, who was hired as the head coach of both the men's and women's swimming and diving programs in May of 2017.

Nebraska holds a 13-0 all-time series lead over South Dakota State. The last dual meet between the two programs was just under two years ago, when the Huskers topped the Jackrabbits 212-88 in Brookings.

Following Friday's meet, the Huskers will have a full weekend at home as they host their annual Scarlet vs. Cream Intrasquad Meet at the Devaney Natatorium on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. The following day, the Huskers will host Northern Iowa at 11 a.m. for their second home dual of the regular season.
