Huskers Fall to Wildcats, 5-2

Lincoln, Neb. -- In the first outside home match of the season, the Nebraska men's tennis team were defeated by Northwestern -. The Huskers fall to 9-7 on the season and 0-4 in Big Ten play.

In doubles play, in the No. 3 position, Chris Dean and Dylan Bednarczyk defeated Antonioni Fasano and Chris Ephron 6-4. Micah Klousia and William Grattan-Smith fell to Michael Lorenzini and Nick Brookes in the No. 2 position 6-4. Toby Boyer and Linus Erhart sealed the doubles point for the Huskers with a 6-4 win over Ben Vandixhorn and Dominik Stary 7-5.

In singles play, Erhart fell to Brookes in the No. 2 position 6-1, 6-4. In the No. 6 position, Dean was defeated by AJ Joshi 6-0, 6-2. Grattan-Smith was bested by Jason Siedman 6-4, 6-2. Bednarczyk was the lone singles winner, defeating Vandixhorn 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 position. Boyer fell in the No. 1 position, losing to Stary 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. Klousia fell to Antonioni Fasano 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 in the No. 4 position.

The Big Red will return to action on Sunday, April 1 at Noon against No. 7 Illinois at the Dillon Tennis Center.
