Huskers Split Up Across the Country

Members of the Nebraska track and field team will split up this weekend to head to four different meets across the country.

Nick Percy and Alex Meyer will throw the discus at the Texas Relays on Friday and Saturday. 

Jasmine Barge, Ashleigh Carr, Chanel Freeman, Chelsey Jones, Kierra Griggs, Lakayla Harris, Raynesha Lewis and Quashira McIntosh are tentatively scheduled to travel to the Florida Relays, though a few more Huskers may be added to the trip to compete in relays. 

The distance runners will compete at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival this weekend. That group will include Mark Freyhof, Pat Letz, Austin Post, Bailey Timmons and Erika Freyhof running the 10,000 meters, and Peter Spinks, Elsa Forsberg and Judi Jones running the 3,000-meter steeplechase. 

Finally, three athletes - Zach Podraza, Shauna Tweedy and Madi Scholl (unattached) will compete in the decathlon and heptathlon at the Iowa Western Spring Classic.
