Home Streak Ends With Loss to Wisconsin

Lincoln, Neb. -- In their first Big Ten match of the season, the Huskers fall to Wisconsin in a close 4-3 match. The Badgers snap a 9-match home win streak for the Huskers. 

In doubles play, Toby Boyer and Linus Erhart fell to Chema Carranza and Josef Dodridge in the No. 1 position 6-1. In the No. 3 position, Dylan Bednarczyk and Chris Dean fought back from 1-5 deficit but ultimately fell short 7-5 to Lamar Remy and Chase Colton sealing the doubles point for the Badgers. Micah Klousia and William Grattan-Smith went unfinished in the No. 2 position.

In singles play, in the No. 3 position, Bednarczyk fell to Remy 6-3, 6-4. In the No. 6 position, Dean continues his strong spring play with a win over Colton 6-3, 6-2. In the No. 1 spot, Boyer remains perfect in the spring season with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Dodridge. In the No. 4 position, Klousia fought a close match but fell short in a tiebreaker set to Carranza 7-5, 7-6. Erhart also continues his perfect spring season with a close win over Daniel Soyfer 6-3, 7-6 winning in a tiebreaker set. With the match tied at 3-3 it came down to the No. 5 position where Grattan-Smith fell just short in a third set 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 to Osgar O'Hoisin.

The Nebraska Men's Tennis team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa to continue Big Ten play taking on the No. 40 Hawkeyes at 3 p.m. on March 18. The Huskers will return home Friday March 30 against Northwestern at 5 p.m. at the Dillon Tennis Center.
