The Nebraska men's and women's cross country teams were both honored with USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards for the 2017 season on Friday. Under Head Coach David Harris, the Husker women compiled a 3.44 team GPA, while the Husker men earned a 3.37 team GPA.
Additionally, Wyatt McGuire was honored as an All-Academic Individual. In order to qualify for the individual honor, athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American in the national meet. McGuire, a junior North Platte native majoring in elementary education, carries a 3.723 GPA and finished 14th at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
