PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Nebraska men's golf team completed day two of action at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Saturday. The Huskers jumped up in the rankings to 14th after a solid second round showing with a score of 293. The Nebraska squad has a total team score 592 heading into the final day of competition.
Junior captain Jace Guthmiller is back on top of the team's standings after leading the Huskers with a second round stroke of 70. He currently sits tied for 32nd with a total score of 144.
Junior Sean Song matched his day one score of 73 and is tied for 40th with a total score of 146. Junior Dylan McCabe golfed for a score of 76 and carries a total score of 150 as he sits tied for 76th.
Junior Jackson Wendling and sophomore Cameron Jones golfed for scores of 74 and 78, respectively. Each are tied in the rankings at 93rd with combined scores of 152, although Jones is competing as an individual. Sophomore Tanner Owen rounds out the Husker lineup tied 132nd after improving his second round score to 79 and 163 total.
California still sits atop the standings with a comfortable lead, with 549 as the score to beat. The Huskers will wrap up play at the tournament on Sunday as they aim to crack the top ten.
