PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Nebraska men's golf team completed the first day of competition at the Classic Club for the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Friday. The Huskers currently sit tied for 17th alongside Idaho with a team score of 299.
Junior Sean Song stepped up for the Huskers and currently leads the team with a score of 73, tied for 33rd overall. Song will look to carry his momentum into day two and lead the Husker squad as they try to work their way up the standings.
Jace Guthmiller, Dylan McCabe and Cameron Jones all tied for 52nd with a score of 74, although Jones is competing individually.
Jackson Wendling tied for 106th and golfed for a score of 78 and Tanner Owen currently sits tied for 134th and posted a stroke of 84.
California currently sits in first place at the tournament, with 275 as the total team score to beat. The Huskers resume action on Saturday as they tee off for day two of the tournament at the 7,322-yard par-72 course.
