Huskers Soar at Air Force Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Nebraska track and field team picked up 13 more event titles on the final day of the Air Force Invitational at Cadet Field House on Saturday.

The Husker men earned the team title with a total of 161 points to edge host Air Force, which finished with 146. The NU women were second with 99 points, falling just behind Long Beach State's 100.5 points. 

Toni Tupper won the shot put title with a personal-best throw of 54-4 3/4 (16.58m), which moved her up to No. 4 on the all-time Nebraska indoor chart.

Kaiwan Culmer won the triple jump with a season-best jump of 52-1 3/4 (15.89m), which moved him to No. 11 in the nation in the event. 

Grant Anderson was the high jump champion with a clearance of 6-11 (2.11m). Tyler Loontjer was the top collegiate finisher in the pole vault at 17-0 3/4 (5.20m). 

Jasmine Barge was the top collegian in the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best 8.33, the second-fastest time in the Big Ten this season. Antoine Lloyd (7.81) and Luke Siedhoff (7.91) took first and second in the men's race.

Kierra Griggs won the 400 meters in 54.38, while Chelsey Jones was right behind at 55.42. Sam Bransby won the men's 400 meters with a time of 48.33. Ty Moss claimed the 800 meters title in 1:54.54. 

Isaiah Griffith was the champion in the 60 meters with a personal-best time of 6.89. The Huskers swept the 200 meters, as Lakayla Harris posted a winning time of 24.01 and Andy Neal won in 21.26. The women's mile relay won with a time of 3:51.01. 

Petra Luteran finished second in the high jump with a PR of 6-0 3/4 (1.85m), which is tied for eighth in NU indoor history and is tied for the second-best jump in the nation this season. It is also the best mark in the Big Ten. 

The Huskers host the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational next Friday and Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track.
