Four former Huskers are expected to help their teams get one step closer to Super Bowl LII this weekend in the conference championship rounds. Each of the three teams that featured former Huskers that were still alive after the Wild Card round won in the Divisional round.
Linebacker Nathan Gerry and the Philadelphia Eagles took down the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons by a score of 15-10. Gerry played on special teams in Philadelphia's win on Saturday. Offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles and the Minnesota Vikings won an exciting 29-24 decision over the New Orleans Saints, as Minnesota scored on a 61-yard touchdown pass as time expired to advance. Sirles played both at guard and on special teams in the win. The Vikings and Eagles will match up in Philadelphia on Sunday, with kickoff set for 5:40 p.m. (CT) on FOX.
In the AFC, the New England Patriots defeated the Tennessee Titans by a score of 35-14. Running back Rex Burkhead was inactive for the Patriots with an injury, while former Blackshirt Vincent Valentine also plays for the Patriots, but has spent the season on injured reserve.
