Several former Huskers are expected to help their teams get one step closer to Super Bowl LII this weekend in the second week of the NFL playoffs. Nathan Gerry and the Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday at 3:35 p.m. (CT) for chance to play in the NFC Championship game. The game will be televised on NBC. Offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles will try to help the Minnesota Vikings take down the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at 3:40 p.m. (CT). The match up will be televised on FOX.
In the AFC, the New England Patriots face the Tennessee Titans Saturday at 7:15 p.m. (CT). Running back Rex Burkhead hopes to see the field for the Patriots, but could be limited by an injury. Former Blackshirt Vincent Valentine also plays for the Patriots, but will support the team from the sidelines, as he's been placed on injured reserve.
Last weekend, Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito was the lone former Husker to see action, as the other former Huskers had first-round byes. Incognito started at left guard and played 68 out of 77 snaps. He also played on special teams, but the Bills fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 10-3.
