Palm Springs, Calif. -- Husker Toby Boyer wrapped up a great experience at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships on Thursday Nov. 2. Boyer went 0-2 in the tournament, but made great strides.
Boyer faced off against sixth overall seed Emil Reinberg from Georgia and lost 6-1, 6-2. In the consolation tournament Boyer went against Portland's Mike Pervolarakis and lost a close match 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (6).
"Tough loss for Toby as he fought hard coming back from down 2-5 in the third set and eventually losing in a tiebreaker," Head Coach Kerry McDermott said. "Always fun to win those type of close matches, and tough to lose. Toby has had a good fall and hopefully will continue to work on his game and keep improving as we get ready for the second semester dual match season."
The Huskers have finished their fall season and will begin their spring season against South Dakota State on Jan.13.
